Know Normal Thyroid Levels in the Body - Tips on Healthy Hormones- The thyroid gland is located in front of the neck. The main function of the thyroid gland secretes hormones that are helping regulate metabolism.

Hormone secreted thyroid gland also plays a role in normal development of organs such as the heart and brain, as well as for normal reproductive function. The right amount of hormone production is also important for bone and calcium metabolism.

Hormone produced by the thyroid gland is thyroxine (T4) and tri-iodothyronine (T3). Both levels of this hormone are too high or too low can cause serious health problems.
